Welcome to the home of Jason Isaacs Online!
(formerly Dominion Online)

Contrary to popular belief, we have not actually fallen under the jurisdiction of FEMAwe are just still slowly amending.  We apologize for not yet presenting a site worthy of its subject!  While we labour (unhurriedly!) at cumulative improvements, click on the buttons at left to visit pages devoted to the life of Jason Isaacs, in his own words (the Biography); the work of Jason Isaacs (so far!); fan reviews of selected movies (the Movies); and a small assortment of images of the man, in character and out (the Gallery).

In the absence of complete organization and attention, we encourage you to visit our message board to get all the latest news, updates, and goings-on of this very talented actor.  (thanks again, Gillian!)

Jason Isaacs in Elektra

JasonIsaacsonline.com is an UNOFFICIAL fansite dedicated to the work of the delightful actor Jason Isaacs.  It is brought to you by a consortium of enthusiastic admirers who bring to the project a cumulative 30+ years of following his careerwhich, when you consider it, is longer than Mr. Isaacs has been pursuing his career.  So if you find a discrepancy between something Mr. Isaacs says and something you read here, I guess you’ll know whom to believe.

We hope to provide you with some helpful background on Mr. Isaacs as well as some entirely subjective opinions on the man and his work.  In deference to fans relying on dial-up connections as well as those simply seeking brief confirmation of something, we have kept most of these pages fairly basic, but they usually contain links to more in-depth materialmost of our images of Mr. Isaacs are found in the Gallery.  Click on the buttons at left to check the "Biography" page for information on himself, and for a quick rundown of his projects so far, see "The Work" page.  "The Movies" currently offers our reviews of various films (for professional opinions of recent releases, please check the message boards, where we've got lots of links and transcriptions!).  We'll try and keep the updates below absolutely current, and you are urged to double-check the message board as well.   If you find any gaping holes, or you’ve got a hot tip, we hope you’ll share!

With best wishes for your enjoyment here—

HEADS UP!!

Good will be among the Special Presentations at the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival, which runs from 4-13 September.  IMDb shows a UK release date of just "2008".  Watch this space for updates on this intriguing movie, also starring Viggo Mortensen, which features Jason Isaacs as a Jewish psychoanalyst in prewar Germany.

In an interview posted 25 June on ComingSoon.net , Jason Isaacs reports that he'll be appearing (briefly) in the HBO series Entourage.  We'll let you know as soon as we've got more!

Jason Isaacs played Harry H. Corbett opposite Phil Davis as Wilfrid Brambell in The Curse of Steptoe, a docudrama that examines the relationship between the actors in the long-running sitcom Steptoe and Son and how appearing in the series affected their lives.  It was initially broadcast at 9:00 p.m., 19 March, on BBC4.

Empire magazine's got a new article about Green Zone, directed by Paul Greengrass and starring Matt Damon as well as Jason Isaacs.  We're told Mr. Isaacs will be playing an American Army officer.

Jason Isaacs was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in the category "Best performance by an actor in a [television] mini-series" for his performance as Sir Mark Brydon in the BBC/BBCAmerica production The State Within, which also received a nomination for best miniseries!

Mr. Isaacs, who can be heard talking about his roles in The State Within as well as Brotherhood on this segment of Simon Mayo's show on BBC Radio's Five Live, returned to exchange barbs with Mark Kermode on 1 February 2008.  Sign up for the Friday podcast and have Jason on your iPod!

After enjoying critical enthusiasm accompanied by growing viewership, Brotherhood has finally been given the green light to proceed with production of a third season!  Initial broadcast of Season Two of Showtime's Peabody Award-winning series Brotherhood, in which Jason Isaacs stars as Michael Caffee opposite Jason Clarke as his politician brother Tommy, has concluded, with viewership numbers for this season's finale estimated to be 117% higher than last season's.  Apparently viewers are at last catching up with the critics.  Showtime is owned by CBS Corp., and CBS may broadcast expurgated episodes on its own mainstream network.  Check Showtime's site for updates--or visit the message board!

We're also awaiting the release of La Conjura de El Escorial (The El Escorial Conspiracy) set in the 15th-century Spanish court of Philip II, with Jason Isaacs playing Antonio Perez.  We'll let you know whatever we got.

Jason Isaacs starred in a seven-week run of the Harold Pinter play The Dumb Waiter at London's Trafalgar Studios Theatre from 2 February through 24 March 2007.  Official cast photos may be found at http://www.thedumbwaiter.co.uk/index.html.  Some of the stellar reviews the production received may be found on the message board!

Brotherhood was broadcast on an HD channel in Canada, so if you’re a Canadian viewer, check your local listings (and your bank account) as that may be an option for Season 2.  The complete first season is available on a three-DVD set from Amazon.com, as well as other retail outlets.  The official website for Brotherhood offered a number of resources including podcasts, one of them an interview with Jason Isaacs.  Episodes from both Season 1 and 2 are available for download from iTunes; these can be viewed on your computer, as well as or instead of your MP3 player.

From time to time, the Lost Girls offer eBay auctions of Jason Isaacs-related items.  Proceeds (totalling roughly $2,250 so far!) are donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a leading pediatric cancer research hospital.  Look for our auctions under the eBay seller ID jasonisaacsonline--we recently offered an autographed jar of Peter Pan peanut butter, one with a limited-release label featuring a photo of Jason Isaacs as Capt. Jas. Hook in the live-action movie.  Ours had an autograph of Mr. Isaacs, signed March 2007 during the Dumb Waiter run.  Stop by and see what we've got!

(my only technical note:  Gillian does her best to fix my multiple disasters, but it's always possible I've outrun her.  When I mess about with this site [and mess is the operative word], it looks all right to me; if it looks peculiar to you, try viewing it using Mozilla Firefox.  Under no circumstances can I recommend using Internet Explorer.)
