Re: Promotion starts for CH2

I was really surprised to open my copy of Radio Times for next week to find that 'Started Early' is showing at 8.30 on BBC1 on Sunday 19 May - because there's been very little anywhere in the 'coming soon' BBC advertising. Not that I'm not grateful, but the coverage is so low key compared with the l...

Re: DVD

I just checked Amazon UK for the DVD of Awake (in the hope that I might get myself a Christmas present). It's listed, but with no release date for R2. Does anyone know whether there's a R1 release?

I have asked them to let me know when it's available - just in case.

Rosamund Pike - she's reading 'The Spy Who Loved Me'.

Or, as one reader put it - Hello, Two Jason Isaacs!

Re: Jason Isaacs reading James Bond novel (Audio book)

I'm not sure the link will work, but Wittertainment just posted the 'Audible' co flyer - with the observation that Jason Isaacs appears to be not only playing James Bond but also Rosamund Pike...

I checked the #casehistories hashtag and see that Millie Innes is also tweeting.

Can't wait!

Re: EMPIRE MAGAZINE PODCAST W/JASON

I usually buy Empire, but haven't bothered with the website or podcasts much - I may have to do so in future! Lovely interview - doubly useful because I downloaded it and listened this afternoon when I would normally listen to Mayo and Kermode - who aren't on because of the Olympics. Loved the stuff...

"National Treasure" *Big Grin*

Brave looks good (I saw a preview some time ago being endorsed by an archery expert - they apparently did their research very well) Looking forward to seeing it.

Re: Please introduce yourself here!!

Welcome Tigerhawk. And Caddie - lovely to have someone join us via Case Histories (yes, Jason is so versatile!)

Perhaps we should re-name ourselves the Lost Ladies since so many of us are of 'a certain age' (LOL, as I believe they say on the internets).

Re: Awake DVR numbers

That's pretty much what I was going to say, Marie. Good for NBC for trying something different, at great risk for their advertising. They also got the best deal they could in selling the show abroad - I may complain that no one will see it on Sky in the UK, but Sky is also in the business of selling...

Re: Peter Pan...AAIIEE!

Of course we could do it with AV and tech, but where would be the fun in that? ;-) Nothing quite like seeing kids hurled precipitously through the air before your very eyes! I'll just hold out for the perfect Hook instead. Suggestions? You do know that Barrie originally intended Hook to be p...

Re: Peter Pan...AAIIEE!

I think the stage flying is one reason for the current lack of amateur productions. My most vivid memory of Pan (pre-Jason) is a production where the flying children demolished a whole Indian teepee village. Though with modern back-projection and tech you could probably do a production without actua...

Re: Peter Pan...AAIIEE!

I had assumed that the film was based on the stage play version - it's the one I'm most familiar with (from years of pantomimes and amateur productions) and uses the casting conventions from the play - even making a good stab at the 'clap hands if you believe in fairies' audience interaction. I do b...

I'm putting this here because there are some very positive comments on the ending of Awake - though it's also about the 'Hello to Jason Isaacs' phenomenon.

Re: Trying to find: SCARS (directed by Leo Regan)

It was shown at the Shetland Film Festival - so it must be possible to find out who had the rights - I wonder whether the BFI (which often screens one-off documentaries) might have downloads available?
