Thanks, marilaine! Sorry to hear of your loss. They really weasel their way into your heart, don't they? Yeah, Harry's a smooth-coat, as were all his littermates. (He has a pedigree as long as your arm--which didn't stop us neutering him at six months!)
DH's old boss owned his mum. When they had her bred, their intention was to keep a single puppy, have one go for the stud fee, and sell the remaining pups (one to us, though we only reimbursed them for his medical costs). Since the sire's owners were getting first pick, they didn't formally name any of the puppies, not knowing which one would be staying with them, but they called poor Harry "Airplane Ears". (you can kind of see why in the picture--that's his alert expression) Obviously he couldn't go through life being called that, but we didn't want to totally repudiate their original name, so we tried to think of faintly aeronautical titles . . . all I could come up with was Sopwith, which wasn't a great improvement on the original, and then we hit upon Harrier, after the Jump Jet (capable of vertical take-off and landing). So, Harry. Not Hairy.

Col. tavington's "Fire the house and barns" should cheer you, up, Angel.
Think of having a great time this Sunday, & I'm sure it will clear up.
I do believe in good weather. I do! I do! (kudos to Peter Pan)
Overcast, into the 90's on the bayfront area.....80's inland.
Hoping it doesn't rain today.
Wonky little emoticons, aren't they? ~marilaine

It's about 75 here...cloudy...they're calling for thunderstorms sometime to day. Which I can say is accurate(finally), as it's been thundering off and on, since I got up at 7am! But when it'll storm, is another question altogether! Here's hoping it's a better weather day, tomorrow.
Namaste,

Usually I look for rain because it is so dry, but a pair of Sandhill Cranes have built a nest in the middle of a pond near where i live. Usually they nest on land and I'm worried that if there is too much rain the pond will rise and the chicks will drown before they get to solid land. So lets hope the rainy season holds off for awhile.
