Helping in Haiti

We've all been horrified by the news coming out of Haiti, and I'm sure all of us wish we had the power to make things all right again. I don't know if that's ever going to be possible, but the most useful thing we can provide right now is straight-up cash.
Even if you've only got a little to spare, there are ways to donate:
Using your cell phone, you can
• Text the word "Haiti" to 85944 to donate $5 on behalf of the Rescue Union Mission and MedCorp International.
• Text the word "Yele" to 501501 to donate $5 to Yéle Haiti, a grassroots organization started by singer and Haiti native Wyclef Jean.
• Text the word "Haiti" to 25383 to donate $5 on behalf of the Internal Rescue Committee.
• Text the word "Haiti" to 864833 to donate $5 to United Way Worldwide's disaster fund.
• Text the word "Haiti" to 90999 to donate $10 on behalf of the American Red Cross.
• Text the word "HAITI" to 20222 to donate $10 on behalf of the Clinton Foundation.
• Text the word "Haiti" to 45678 (in Canada only) on behalf of the Salvation Army in Canada.
(Donations will appear on your cell phone bill at the end of the month.)

All contributions that accompany calendar payments will be pooled and, as Marie reported, sent to Doctors Without Borders.
And if you aren't able to donate, send them up a prayer.

But for Heaven's sake, don't send anything to Pat Robertson.

Just want to let everyone know that we got payments from maybe half of the orders. With your generous donation I have made the first donation to Doctors without Borders for $350. Due to the dire situation I wanted to do it right away so the money can be there when it is most needed.

Wow!! That's terrific, Char--and what a nice way for people to be able to contribute. Truly a win-win situation--Doctors Without Borders gets critical assistance, and donors get delicious eye candy for twelve salivating months!!

When the earthquake first happened I sent a donation to Doctors Without Borders so I was very pleased to see that our donations with the calendar also go to this excellent organization. Keep up the good work Ladies.
