New Facebook scam

after recently surviving a virus that someone tried to send around Facebook by having one of your friends send an email saying watch a video on youtube, now here is another problem....

I never open emails that do not look genuine or click on links people email me unless I know them.

I recently joined Facebook at the suggestion of one of my friends, after avoiding it for a long time. I really thought it was safer than myspace, but I was wrong.

the email I recd for the youtube virus, did come from one of my facebook
friends (a relative, in fact)....in an 'official' looking email....
I agree, Facebook is not safe....I don't do myspace...

Received an e-mail this AM saying "someone posted your pictures ( you understand the type I mean) etc." I laughed so hard it really made my morning.
Besides the fact that I don't pose for that "kind" they would have to be pretty desperate to post any of me. I gleefully deleted the message. Who needs Facebook?

users should "take precautions" and be careful when meeting up with anyone they have met online.
Yep, people should use common sense- we can't blame facebook (or any other social networking site) for anything.

exactly, especially 'kids' should be taught not to meet up with
strangers from the internet...YIKES :shock:

I have had a few offers from men on Facebook..............but I have pissed them off and they have not bothered me since!
