I had a quick line from herself--things are going okay, but she needed to take a bit of quiet time. I let her know you grils were concerned, and she thanks you for your good wishes and says she'll pop round soon.

I just saw this topic. I live in Victoria, B.C. and I can't remember when we last had an earthquake. I do remember one where the pictures on my walls were banging! That was scarey as it happened around 5:30 in the morning! Another time I was talking to a friend in England when one occurred! They only last a few seconds.
It was weird when I heard one happened around Ottawa/Quebec. My sister-in-law was at school and had to calm her students!

My brother lives in Montreal, and I've never heard about earthquakes in Canada before

All elevators have signs that say not to get on if there's an earthquake. There's even emergency kits that people can buy in case of one. They contain food stuff, flashlight, first aid kits...We've told we should have a 72 hour supply of water per person, but I don't think anybody really does.

I keep emergency supplies for hurricanes but not for earthquakes.
Only felt a slight one here once. They say it was out in the middle of the Gulf.
That's something else we don't need.
We've got enough heat, humidity, snakes, bugs, gators. Ugh!

Don't forget the oil!
When I went to school in Michigan there were signs posted for tornado shelters!
