I can always appreciate mention of one Tom Hiddleston.
Re: Peter Pan...AAIIEE!
And who made/makes the best Captain Hook? Well, we know the answer, but let's see what someone else says:
A tatted-up captain with a hairy chest? Yes, please.

I have to say that that Colin O'Donoghue guy is exactly the kind of guy I'd have liked when I was 15.
Note: I am, however, no longer 15.

"Yes, please" indeed! Frustratingly, when I go to this page, it won't show the (presumed) picture of Jason. Oh well, bet I can find one somewhere else...Helen8 wrote:A tatted-up captain with a hairy chest? Yes, please.

Well, the picture was there yesterday. Those so and so's!
It's in the same sequence as this picture (scroll down to the last pic on the page):

Happy to oblige!
Re: Peter Pan...AAIIEE!
I babysat my 4 year old niece and ten year old nephew last weekend. I brought my Peter Pan dvd, thinking they might watch it in installments over the weekend. My niece watched the whole thing through and loved it.
I forgot the darn thing at my sister's house though. I wonder if I will ever see it again?

All indications point to "no."

Re: Peter Pan...AAIIEE!
I loved those two pics of JI as Hook! I've got the DVD on rental through the library (long story), and my favorite parts included the songs JI sang (too bad they weren't on the soundtrack), the way Mr. Darling blushed under Millicent's praise, and JI's "SMEEEE!!!!"]/u] I've read some of the comments about the Disney version 50 years earlier; in fact, I've seen it...and, honestly (for anyone else who's seen it), I really heard the late Hans Conried (Disney's George Darling/Captain Hook in JI's scream to Smee. They sound exactly the same (to me, at least).
As to the Special Features, my favorites (DRUM ROLL, PLEASE!) had to be the deleted segment with Mr. Darling in Nana's doghouse (especially the bank segemnt, and watching JI try to scramble out & up the stairs), and The Lost Pirate Song.
Now, about Tink: Ludivine Sagnier was praised on the DVD for her comic portrayal of the character...a far cry from what I seem to remember about another incarnation of the same character, a few years prior to Sagnier's performance.

Re: Peter Pan...AAIIEE!
So I watched NBC's Peter Pan Live last night.
Walken's Hook has absolutely nothing on Jason's Hook. Hook is a hard character - you either have to play him "Go Big or go home!" or you have to actually try to create some empathy for him. Jason successfully did both. Walken - and don't get me wrong, I love Walken- seemed to be phoning it in. He didn't go big and well...at some point he was only talk-singing so it was rather disappointing. Minnie Driver was a great grown up Wendy.
But...in the lead up, I stumbled over this. Vanity Fair's 10 Sexiest Captain Hooks. The 1st time I read it, I was sort of confused. I couldn't figure out why Hiddles' Hook was number 1 (not that I was complaining mind you, but his Hook was a cartoon which negated any sexy in this character - although he was a very sexy cartoon. I think that he's going to be one of those "actors of the ages" if he keeps doing what he's doing.) Then I got to Jason, who was at number 10, and realized- they did the list backwards!

Of course he is, no contest!
The internet is full of people saying how much better Hook JI is than Christopher Walken.

I don't even remember or know half of those Hooks> "Unparallelled winner" indeed.
