"A RELATIVE STRANGER"

Post by malfoygrandma » Fri Dec 19, 2008 1:56 pm

 Have read several comments elsewhere about this early film of Jason's, and I would LOVE to own this film, but I cannot find it anywhere in Britain or anywhere else, though it is mentioned in lists of his work! Has anyone seen this film, or where to buy it?

I found 'Passionada' at a pawn shop.....just by chance.
What I wouldn't give to find his 'Highlander' episode on DVD.

Can't find any of JI's first movies here where I live...wish I could see his early work!

I finally managed to track this down here:
https://www.ioffer.com/i/a-relative-str ... =171565864

It's a TV recording, copied onto a DVD, but it worked well enough for me.

I had given up getting hold of this, so it was a very positive surprise that I found it when I wasn't looking for it.
Jason Isaacs plays a man who wakes up and can't remember anything from the last 20 years or so of his life. And he is of course very confused about his wife that he can't remember why he had married in the first place, and his children who he can't remember to have ever known. He tries to get back in touch with his old girl friend.

His wife was played by Siobhan Redmond who was in Case Histories as well. And his son was played by Ioan Gruffudd - He can't be that much more younger than JI? They looked more like brothers, if you ask me...

I'll post some screen caps later.

I loved Siobhan Redmond in Inside the Line. I believe its original title was Between the Lines. Ioan Gruffudd was born in 1973!
