Or, if an actor is not giving the director what he/she wants, they redo the scenes many times until the director is satisfied.
I'm thinking of how I would feel if I were an actress and had to redo a scene many times. Probably annoyed and frustrated. Acting is a tough thing to do....

The director just kept saying "again". But since I'm not any kind of expert there probably was a difference.
I don't remember the extras
so this might not be relevant but, is the camera in the same place for each take? You often see one scene from varying points of view; a long shot, a close-up of one actor saying a line, a closeup of the other actor responding to that same line. That might account for some of he repeats.

The scenes I'm talking about seem to have the camera in the same place but that doesn't mean it isn't changed for other shots.

That was a scene that did not make it into the film. I think Halder is having one of his "Mahler moments" when people going about their lives suddenly come to a stop and break into song. It looks like Maurice breaks the "spell" by walking in front of Halder sitting on the bench. Maybe the director wanted to stop the song in different places or Jason didn't step in front of the camera at the exact second the director wanted. That's my take on it, grannybear.

I like Viggo Mortensen, he's not that handsome but he's charming.

Haha, I was SO in love with Viggo Mortensen when I saw LOTR. I was about 13 or 14 I think
And all of my classmates laughed at me when I was drawing hearts with V.M. on my desk and not the names of Backstreet Boys
I always had this little soft spot for men over twenty years older than me (or more haha )

Oh me too...I've always preferred older men, they are more attractive. I don't like guys my own age.

Thanks wolfsaver!
You have wonderful taste Lisabella! I loved LOTR, but I was into Craig Parker who played Haldir the elf! Viggo didn't knock my socks off until Eastern Promises!! haha

Did anyone see
Craig Parker as Darken Rahl in Legend of the Seeker TV series? He was a sexy beast! LOL. Reminded me a lot of Jason.
There is a definite resemblance, don't you agree?

I really liked that show and looked forward to when Craig was on. He plays evil really well, yet in real life he's quite a comedian! I've seen videos of him at different conventions.

Char, no kidding, before I read your post, I thought you photoshopped Jason's face onto the picture. Craig really does resemble Jason in that pic.
