This is a TV series about a police officer after a fatal car crash killed either his son or his wife. He lives in two realities. One where his son survived the accident, and one where his wife survived. He doesn't know which is the real one, and he doesn't want to know. It aired on NBC, and was cancelled after one season.

I'm hoping we shall see the pilot before the series premieres
(keeping fingers crossed)

"Jason Isaacs in Awake (NBC)
PICKED UP: Formerly titled R.E.M., this sci-fi thriller's close resemblance to the mega-hit Inception probably helped it avoid the dustbin. Isaacs, a talented actor with an appealing masculinity, has finally nailed a network series."

On a more somber note: In EW.com, inside tv, best and worst new shows:
Awake, "A show critics will like but we suspect mass viewers will not".
I've read something like this several times now and I hope it's not an omen of things to come.
Also have read it would be better on cable than the networks.
It's playing games with my mind.

I was happy to read the above article listing AWAKE as number one...maybe, with all this hype and
positive reviews, Greenblatt (spelling?) might have it be a replacement...one can only
hope..

After reading critics saying how good Awake was but they didn't know if viewers would go for something so different.
Reading over his choices there appear to be several shows that have out of the ordinary story lines.
People have been saying all the shows are the same and they want a change. Lets see if they watch this new batch.
Anyway ....... Hooray for Awake. Shows that Jason has good taste.

Euphemism : Putting shocking or risqué concepts or comments in more socially acceptable words.
Example : "[...] Jason Isaacs, a talented actor with appealing masculinity[...]"
Yeah, I hope it doesn't get cancelled or chucked because people find it too confusing. I'm so tired of everything being watered down and oversimplified.
Godspeed, Awake and dear Jason!

not a review, but I liked this article:
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/2 ... dio-190882
"THR: Awake, Lone Star creator Kyle Killen’s Inception-esque drama starring Jason Isaacs, is getting a lot of buzz. But it has some challenging plot turns – in one world Isaacs’ wife is dead and in the other his son is dead. Was there any concern that, like Lone Star, Awake would be too dark to find a broad audience?
Walden: With Lone Star we knew there would be conceptual obstacles. This guy was doing a fundamentally unlikeable thing. He’s with two women. He’s cheating on both of them. But we don’t have those obstacles [with Awake]. This guy is a pure hero. He’s a cop. The stories are procedural cop stories. So I don’t think it has the conceptual shortcomings of Lone Star. I also don’t think it has the same marketing challenge. I commend [Fox], they spent a lot of money on [the Lone Star] campaign. But it is what it is; it’s about a guy who was cheating on his wife with his other wife.

Welllllll, until Awake begins, a few series look really interesting . . . Person of Interest (nice to see "Ben Linus" again) as well as Alcatraz (shades of Lost.)

I've shown several of my friends the promo for Awake, and they all agree that it definitely looks like something they would watch, and none of them are Jason fans {at least not to the extent we are}. So hopefully, everyone else will feel the same!

A small mention is better than nothing.

And, unfortunately, the word "complex" makes some people's eyes glaze over. Bloody EW!

The word "simple" wouldn't have been better. Awake is complex and some people like that...
