Does anyone know how to watch this if someone tried really hard to stay "awake" to see it, but to no avail. Please don't suggest a DVR, all the TVs have DVD thingies attached (no, I didn't buy the darned things), so no other attachments can be added, and it's not on CD's web site, or JI's sites, or Hulu or anywhere else I can think of. Do I just have to wait this one out? Really, deep fried , what was it, Mars bars with sauce and salt? The deep fried thing I remember from stuff he said a long time ago from when he was growing up (but candy bars? yuck!) It must be some English thing...Saw the pictures, LOVE scruff, and I too never really noticed a "bad" side. ln

I missed it too.
A couple of years ago, the Scottish area of the Smithsonian Folklife Festivall featured deep-fried Mars bars (which aren't, I think, the same as our Mars bars), but I know they are also available at state fairs these days. Don't know which came first . . .

Umm...It looks like the show does post videos of its previous interviews. It seems that they have things up from last week, so maybe Jason's will be up by the end of the week or next? (she says hopefully)
I think that the Mars bars in the UK have nougat and caramel covered in chocolate. You can find them sometimes in certain grocery stores that have good imported food items (I've seen them in Stop and Shop in New England) and in other specialty food stores that have imported food. (I've also seen them here in Phila, but I can't remember where.) US Mars bars have nougat, caramel, and, I think, some sort of nut. I had some sort of deep-fried candy bar at the MD Renaissance Faire a couple of years ago. It was interesting, crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, not bad, but not something you'd want to have more than every 5 years, as you can feel your arteries hardening as soon as you swallow it.
If you're really desperate for a UK Mars bar (and can't find them by you) - you can order them here:http://www.englishteastore.com/marsbar.html

He was wonderful! I stayed up until almost 2 o'clock to record the show. My mother was thrilled when I showed her the interview as I never told her he was on Carson Daly. Bad side?!?!?!
I work in a restaurant and for fun the cooks have deep fried chocolate bars and burgers with the buns as well as battered pickles, battered cucumbers and other veggies or fruit they can get their hands on. Some of it's not bad!

Rockin' the scruff, Jason. And, the forest green shirt is a definite WOW! factor too.
Thank you, Char, for the added piccies.
