Umm ... I'm afraid the figures over here aren't going to help with that - not necessarily because people don't like it, but because Sky Atlantic simply doesn't get very high figures. I tried to do find the exact figures but couldn't, but apparently Mad Men, which I thought was really popular on the BBC and was then bought for Sky Atlantic gets around 75,000 viewers! So, I'm afraid it isn't going to help at all.LadySekhmet wrote: Perhaps if the reception is good enough on your side of the Pond, some American network official will get their head of their...errr... giant cloud and pick it up elsewhere-

Re: Cancelled
Regarding Sky. I am devoted Mad Men watcher and regularly read the episode blog on The Guardian. When the current season of MM began, there were many posters logging on just to say that they were pi**ed that MM had gone form BBC to Sky because they would never have anything to do with Rupert Murdoch. From this, I knew that Awake would never have high ratings in the UK, (although it could have high ratings for Sky).
The real sore point with me is NBC's lack of promotion. My God, Char did more to promote Awake in her sleep than the whole bl**dy network!

Re: Cancelled
Well, that explains why it's on Sky . . . Fox produced the episodes, so Murdoch owns 'em.

Re: Cancelled
That is a great shame. They just don't give things a chance.
I don't think it is my imagination, but since Jason has relocated to the US he seem to have been inundated with job offers so as has been pointed out, I am pretty sure he will survive.
I am about to watch the second episode on Sky, I loved the pilot, Laurielove just explains things better than I.

Crap crap crap crap. I really wanted NBC to give it another season and a better time slot. It was a well crafted show.

A shame. I blame the lack of promotion, it's a great show.

Re: Cancelled
Hmmm... I can't believe that these words are coming out of my mouth -maybe Fox should pick up Awake. Their news may be slanted and biased, and they may be in league with Satan, but at least they sometimes have decent programming and know how to promote their shows.
Do shows on Sky Atlantic have commercial breaks? Are the shows' lifespans dictated by the success of the possible commercial advertising, or is it like some cable channels here where there are no commercials through out the show? Because if it is commercial-less, maybe it would survive better as they wouldn't have to depend on the companies who buy the commercial slots.
Edit: Did you guys see this? Cast reactions to Awake being cancelled. Himself didn't say anything, perhaps because he never posts on his twitter account.

Hi,
Jason has tweeted about Awake:

It's his first since opening the account - a shame that it had to be disappointing news.

LOL - I'm just not a big tweeter. I follow a couple of people but for most of the day my iPhone and iPad are not allowed in the location where I work so I'd only have access at night.
