Just when you think you've heard it all . . .

Texas town says goodbye to 'hello'

KINGSVILLE, Texas (AP) -- In this friendly little ranching town, "hello" is wearing out its welcome. And Leonso Canales Jr. is happy as heck.
At his urging, the Kleberg County commissioners on Monday unanimously designated "heaven-o" as the county's official greeting. The reason: "hello" contains the word "hell."

Give me a large-sized break. Get real, people. There are far more important things to concern yourself with these days--look around: unemployment, foreclosures, business closures, lack of affordable health insurance, rising gas prices (again), . . .

My sentiments, too.
They must have too much time on their hands to have come up with THAT!
(And, what's worse, Kleburg County is located in the Coastal Bend.....kind of near Corpus Christ. Glad I don't live there. )

Do you remember Tim-the Toolman Taylor's next door neighbor - the one that always said Hideyho as a greeting..... Sounded pretty stupid - so does this!!!!

I've been trawling through the documents on and off today checking which ones look suspicious and flagging them. See the guardian website -

http://mps-expenses.guardian.co.uk/

so far today 37,000 out of 77,000 documents have been scrutinized by the public to flag the ones that show worrying expenses. You should have a go, its quite fun!

A participant in the NPR quiz show Wait Wait Don't Tell Me quipped, "Well then what are they going to say? 'Heaven-o, Municipal Water Treatment. How may I he--'"

Hilary, WWDTM was where I first heard about this. We can only get this station in the car , so if we happen to be out and about between 10 and 11:30, we luck out. We roared at the line: "How can I he- . . .?"

Idiots.

Unfortunately, idiots beget idiots.

Kingsville ....... puts in on my do not visit place... shades of dueling banjos.
Dueling Banjos is an old film, just wanted to add that.
Anyone wanting to pervert a simple word has moved way beyond wacky weed smoking into inhaling something worse.

You were closer with Dueling Banjos: they must be missing a chromosome or two.
