Finally, somebody grew a pair!!!
Congressman Grayson, Florida Democrat, stood up to the Party of No. His great speech, in its entirety, follows the setup by the msnbc commentator. Click: "Putting the GOP on defensive"

Grayson's only been in office eight months, and he may end up a single-termer.
But if you ask me, that's what we need right now--people with the determination to take a stand, regardless of what donations they'll miss out on in future.
I loved his apology--"I apologise to the 44,000 Americans who die every year because they lack insurance."
Speaking of health insurance, here's a nice link for you: http://www.denverpost.com/ci_13530098
The story of a breast-fed four-month-old baby who IS TOO OBESE TO INSURE.
Why should others in his insurance pool have to suffer because of his poor personal choices?? Cut him off till he demonstrates some self-control!! Squirm more vigorously, ya fat selfish little bastard!

Grayson is soooo my newest hero! I tracked down his website and sent him a thank-you message.Hilary the Touched wrote:Grayson's only been in office eight months, and he may end up a single-termer.

I read that article about the 4 month old and was just horrified. How can we as a nation be ok with this? And they were talking earlier this week about domestic abuse being listed as a pre-existing condition. In 8 states and the District of Columbia it is legal for health insurance companies to list domestic abuse as a pre-existing condition that they can deny a woman health coverage for. It's just so wrong...

Brilliant speech! I can't believe that you don't have health care! I understand that Sen. Edward Kennedy was battling for years for health care reform. I wish that all the people who are against health care to have watched the Dr. Oz show where this one man had cancer on his lip and hadn't seen a doctor because he didn't have health care! He couldn't work because his bottom lip was so disfigured. There were a couple of cancer specialists who said they'd take care of him for free!
Our health care system in Canada isn't perfect, but everyone is covered. When I lived in Ontario I had OHIP-Ontario Hospital Insurance Plan. No one paid for it. Here in British Columbia if a person earns a certain amount of money they either get free insurance or they pay according to their earnings.
