Happy New Year to everyone! May 2008 be filled with good health, love and happiness (or at least a good raise at work!)

I plan to put a couple of ribeye steaks on the grill and have some nice red wine with hubby. (And those terrible beggar cats who love steaks!!!!)

Hugs,
Marie

Staggering in late, with achy sinuses and jet-lag. . .
Sprog and I, for reasons that elude explanation, left a perfectly nice B&B in Fulham and hopped aboard a double-decker bus to Green Park, where we could see more or less the top 5/8ths of the London Eye. We had read that this was the marker for visibility of the fireworks. We stayed some distance away from the Thames, and thus much of the crowd (though one might argue that being jostled by thousands of drunken Poles is part of the experience), and were treated to quite a nice show. It was very chilly and a bit drizzly, but we felt pretty safe. Then we scampered back to Park Lane or someplace and caught a bus back to bed.
Hurrah.
Sprog enjoyed a New Year's cocktail, savouring her temporary legality, and then we went right to sleep--there was a party on next door, but we both had earplugs.
Damn. That's almost too much excitement for one post, ain't it???!

Thanks for your kind wishes, all!

Welcome back, Miss Hils! It sounds like you had a wonderful New Year's.
So was it just you and Sprog that night, or were there other family there?

Just us'ns--well, us and 1,397,000 random strangers. As I explained, poor DH had to stay home to earn some money to pay for these hijinks.
