Poor Natasha Richardson--she reportedly suffered a head injury during an accident while skiing in Quebec.
Here's hoping the damage is only fleeting--

I have been watching "Inside Edition" and it has been reported that this dear lady is brain dead...this is so devastating for her family. They are flying her back to New York for family and friends to say goodbye...such a terrible, terrible accident. Such a beautiful young woman.
My prayers and thoughts go out to them.

So how do you get from falling on the bunny slope to being brain dead?
There was no open wound or obvious injury. Unless she had a stroke or subdural hematoma, and even then, it seems a little far fetched. Also, if she was brain dead, they would fly to her, not her flying to them.
Until the hospital/family release a really substantial statement all this is speculation.
Hopefully she is not as close to death as reported.
Wear your helmets people! Helmets save lives.

Excellent point, Lady Lucius.LadyLucius wrote:....Until the hospital/family release a really substantial statement all this is speculation.

The accident was the first thing I heard when my clock radio woke me up this morning and I have been reading conflicting reports all day. According to the Huuf Post, one online report had an "RIP" headline.
That is really unforgivable.
I'm not a prayer but my thoughts are with her and her family.

I guess it's not uncommon for this to happen. Where it seems someone is fine after a fall. It's called Talk and die Syndrome. Here's a report from the telegraph on it.
