Spoilers thread for those who finished reading the book

This pilot for a Fox television series, based on the novel by Scott Turow, was tragically not selected for production. Bastards.

You know you're getting old when..........

I ordered the book on line because I couldn't find it in the stores here. Well, I was going through my Audio Books to find something for the car and there it was...The tapes for Pleading Guilty. I didn't even know I had them. They're read by Stacey Keach. I'll let you know how they sound when I'm done. Next time I'll check every place in the house.

As I already said on another thread, I'm not a fan of audio books. But the advantage is that you can listen to them, what is very convenient for those who don't have enough time for reading :-|

meeting Scott Turow!

Post by malfoygrandma » Mon Apr 12, 2010 7:02 am

:D It was very nice to see that Jason got to meet and be with the author, Scott Turow. I am sure he enjoyed that very much, and if Mr. Turow is a script consultant or something, I imagine our "intellectual" Jason will enjoy the privelege of discussing writing with this very prolific and top selling author! Very nice!

Huahuahua...I wonder if he has read the book (probably!!). Would love to hear his opinion on it. I'm still on page 14, gah, I'm slow to read, but it sounds like an interesting story.

Mr Jason told Kate, he read the book and really liked it....of all the pilots he was offered, he chose this one...in fact, he turned down other pilots, and had to wait until this one was offered to him...

So, YES, he likes the book!!

I finished listening to the Audio of the book. It was very good and I thought Sacey Keach did a good job of reading it.
It went much faster than reading the book and since most tapes are abridged this is the reason why.
Now I want to play it again as I know I missed alot. You can't really drive and listen intently at the same time.

Haven't finished Pleading Guilty yet, I have more than 200 pages to go I think. I have a habit of reading more than one book at a time (and it's not unusual that I don't finish every book I pick up)
Right now I'm reading PG, sense and sensibility and...Nietzsche (Zarathustra). 'Crime and Punishment' is the next one on my list. LOL!
I'm craaazy!

I love philosophy and classical literature!!!

You're not crazy Angel. I keep a stack of books by my bed and what I read depends on my mood. Makes life interesting.

That's what I love about my Kindle. I have a lot of books on there - so I get to read what I'm in the mood for!

I have been seriously thinking about getting a Kindle (but I guess it wouldn't change my book buying behavior, I love buying books LOL)

In fact I just downloaded Pleading Guilty to my Kindle so it kind of moves up to the front of my long list of books to read!!!! It was only $7.99 and of course no shipping since it is automatically downloaded.

I LOVE the Kindle!

Question...When you get done reading a book does it automatically erase or can you keep the book like in a file? I have books i like to read over but my shelf space is getting scarce. I would get a kindle if I could store and save things.

Yes you can store things. It's got a lot of memory and if the memory gets wipped out - Amazon has a record of your purchases and will send you back the books you bought.
