Jason Isaacs is to star in a new BBC One drama based on Kate Atkinson’s books featuring private investigator Jackson Brodie.
The series, which will be formed of six parts, will be filmed in Scotland and is due to be broadcast next year.

Yes, it's the audio books he was reading.
Funny, I pictured him as Jackson Brody when I listened to him reading the story. Looking forward to see that! :D

I was very interested to read the rest of the article about filming "Young James" about the early life of vet and author James Herriot.
I'm a fan of his books and have the DVD set of the TV series.
I see there is also something about a drama with David Tennant. What ever happened to Retreat?

I can hardly wait for this BBC drama.

I loved the Kate Atkinson audio books read by Jason, especially the ones set in Edinburgh where he got great use of various Scottish accents.

I'll be in seventh heaven with the drama being filmed in Scotland, hopefully Edinburgh where the books are set, as I'll be there in November this year WOOHOO!!! A city I've always wanted to visit and now I'm going.

But this is another great opportunity for Jason doing a tv series. Fingers crossed it may result in another series for him.

Hooroo,
Carole

I'll hold off buying the books until the series actually airs in England next year. Don't want to go the Pleading Guilty route again. Fool me once, Networks, . . .

I've already ordered the paperbacks. I think I'll enjoy them regardless.
There appears to be only 3 with a 4th to be published in 2011.

I thought Edinburgh was a fascinating city when I was there. That was in 1987 but the heart of these old cities never change.

more in from "The Sun"

"HARRY Potter actor Jason Isaacs is to star in a new BBC1 detective drama.

The six-part Case Histories - filmed and set in Scotland - is adapted from Kate Atkinson's mystery novels.

Isaacs - Lucius Malfoy in the Potter films - will play "complex and compulsive" private investigator Jackson Brodie.

BBC1 controller Jay Hunt said: "Case Histories is an exciting opportunity to bring contemporary adaptation to the channel.

This is great news - I love murder mysteries.

I admit to being very disappointed when JI wasn't cast in Midsomer Mysteries. But it has worked out for the better - he can now create and establish a unique series and character.

Off to buy the books - I've been looking for something new for pleasure reading.

Anything to get me away from research.

Cheers,
Kate, again
