The Dead Spit Of Kelly

Post by thunder » Fri Nov 08, 2019 10:58 am

A new project for Jason.
...about a taxidermist (Morgan) who kills his cruel boss (Isaacs) and uses his skills to wear the dead man’s skin and live a double life.

It's apparently a dark comedy. Based on a short story by Flann O’Brien. Jim Broadbent is in it too.

Something new to look forward to. :wheee

Here's a theatrical monologue adapted from the short story (SPOILER ALERT):

As far as I understand, Jason must have a lot of screen time in this. I Hope it gets made. I found some old links saying they tried to make this in 2017 too. Let's hope it happens now. :D

And more than a little gross! But an interesting concept.

Just keep thinking about Men in Black and the bug wearing the human skin. :gah:

Hey! We got a mention at the end of the article! ;-)

Myriad’s current slate includes fantasy drama The Lost Girls starring Ellen Burstyn and Emma Thompson, which follows the Darling girls as they resume their lives after meeting Peter Pan.

Um. The Darling girls?? Wendy had two brothers. :scratch

They are adding cast members, so that means it's still on:

There should be quite a bit of screen time for Jason since the lead will look like him!

This sounds wonderful. Looking forward to this a lot. By the way under normal circumstances is this the rate that Jason films his projects he seems to be very busy or is it just that the work is all backed up at the moment.

He is more busy now than usual. Things have been delayed because of Covid, I think.

I was wondering how many projects a year he does normally. Yes I suspect he has had a few projects delayed could be a very busy period for him.

Of movies or TV-series, I's say he does 1-5 a year. 2 or 3 usually. :scratch Independent movies usually takes shorter to film. So if it's a year of independent movies, he may be able to film some more. I think he filmed a lot of movies in 2019, and had a lot planned for 2020, which he is catching up on now. When he does TV series, it takes longer time to film, so then maybe he only do one additional movie. And he also does audio books and animation too.

He's usually quite busy, but it's seldom he goes from work to work one week after the other, like it seems he's doing now. :D

This sounds intriguing, and yes, a lot of screen time for Jason.

Jim Broadbent is excellent - he has won 2 BAFTAs, 2 Golden Globes and an Oscar. He was also in Harry Potter.
