Some of you may already be familiar with Donors Choose, an organization that allows donors to contribute to the fulfillment of teacher "wish lists." Teachers post specific wants or projects, together with detailed breakdown of equipment or material, and then contributors give whatever they can toward the project. This allows you to help out, even if you can't afford the whole cost.
Well, I recently signed up for something called Groupon, which sends users offers for special deals from local merchants, restaurants, etc., and I just got one for Donors Choose--another foundation will match donations, so if you make a $20 donation, Donors Choose receives $50.
As the name implies, you can select the project you want to support, by category (want to help buy art supplies for 3rd graders?) or geographic area. 100% of your donation will go to Donors Choose, and if you give it as a gift, your recipient can select the project herself.
