The Last Minute

Post by Malfoy Grandma » Thu Nov 09, 2006 9:24 am

Saw it last nite! I am too old for stream-of-consciousness writing crap like that, which usually comes from some poor fool who does not know any grammar, has no self-control, and can't get anyone to read his writing unless he throws in lots of bloody junk and lots of meaningless sex. Well! I got that off my conscience! How these fools get other uneducated idiots to invest millions of dollars in a movie that hardly anyone will ever buy unless they are complete idiots like me who will buy anything with JI in it is just too much! End of that ranting! Sorry, Ladies! Of course it is fun to see Jason lipsyncing those famous songs and singers, and not surprised at how well he dances!

When I first saw this movie, I totally hated it...
but, in subsequent viewings, it has started to grow on me...
of course, fast forwarding to the JI bits does help...

Yes exactly. Such a bizarre seemingly pointless film but gets a bit better with additional veiwing. I really wouldn't bother if his role as Percy wasn't so damn sexy. "I'll be back for that. Keep it warm." Oh Percy. You animal!

Grannybear the Last Minute is a odd, strange very weird british film that came out in 2001. Many are underwhelmed by the film itself but Id like to hear your opinion of Jason in this. His character is so creepy but strangely attractive. :scratch But I guess most psycopaths are.

Well, Rent it or buy the dvd... if you want to add it to your collection of JI films.

To be quite honest, I don't like the Last minute. And wouldn't watch the whole movie again (maybe only the JI bits!).

Grannybear, this movie is quite decidedly NOT everyone's cup of tea; I might suggest trying to find it on Netflix, if you're a member, or maybe seeking a used copy on eBay.

Wolfie, I loved it precisely BECAUSE it was weird.
AND it had a plot (sort of), unlike Hotel which didn't.

Grant you, it wasn't always understandable, but I liked the change of pace.
You can only take so much Hollywood crap before wanting something else.

Hilary--Thanks--I'll look for it on Netflix and add it to my list.

I finally got the DVD at a sale. Netflix didn't have it. Not Available.
Have watched about the first 1/2 hour. Weird. Did like Jasons singing and dancing. Is that his real voice? I really couldn't tell.
Will give my humble opinion when I'm done.

I think somebody posted video here of 'behind the scenes' footage showing the filming of JI's singing; he did, obviously, sing, but the performance heard in the movie is by a professional impersonator (not a Frank Sinatra recording).
Likewise, JI does dance, but in the close-up of the sparking tap shoes, they cut to footage (haha) of a different performer.

I think the director explained all that in a commentary track? It's been a while . . .

Thanks Hilary. I'll be sure to watch the commentary when I'm done with the movie.
Even though it's not his voice he makes it look as if it really is.
Did like his dancing. He has the moves. Yeah!

I love the part where he headbutts a DJ in a club and takes over the mic to sing!
