Also they say there'll be some shooting in London so he'll be close to home and family. Which I'm sure he likes.

Thanks for that, Kim. This movie sounds like it's going to be very thoughtful and interesting, and I'm glad to hear it has the support of the troops who are participating.
I was a little startled to see that the HMMWVs being used with their doors off. That would seem to sort of negate the whole point of a HMMWV!

(At about 2:45 and 3:05 into the clip, you can see soldiers in the back of a truck. It's a "deuce and a half", and I used to ride in one of them! Their design apparently dates from WWII and hasn't altered much since then. I was in a really small unit, and we didn't have people with discreet jobs like driver--everybody had to kind of double up. [I was trained to operate a 10K generator, for example] My squad leader drove our truck--she's about 5'1", and had to sit on a stack of manuals to see over the steering wheel!!)

Thanks, Kim! This film should provide an interesting insight, especially for people like me who'd never heard of the Green Zone.

How interesting--I wonder why they need to be "North American". The stereotypical "American" look is . . .
Anglo Saxon, like, English. :scratch
I also read that they had filmed stuff in Spain, using Norwegian students and tourists to achieve the effect!
What portion of the story features Americans in uniform in London??
I'm not following along very well tonight . . .

Hils, I read the same article about the Norwegian students being used
as Americans..

After reading your post, I'm confused, too...LOL
To me, can you tell the difference between an American
and a Brit...maybe by dress code...LOL...
I never thought we were that different...

thanx Char, check out the blog from the Empires, I posted it over
on Jason News...a bit of a dark pic (Matt Damon giving speech), Mr
Jason standing to the side, and a nice line about wanting to lick
Mr Jason's face (Empire folks)...not Matt Damon (sorry, I still dont
like him)...LOL

I of course assumed that Matt Damon wanted to lick Jason Isaacs' face.

Might be a bit awkward to work together after that, I can't help but think . . .
And thanks for that new morsel, Char! (TOLD you he wasn't no lieutenant!)
