MISSING SCENES??

Post by virtu1889 » Wed Mar 11, 2009 4:28 pm

I remember reading that the BBC wouldn't re-air Curse of Steptoe because of misleading information. I would presume that the dvd is the edited version.

Has anyone seen the original and edited version? Are there scenes cut out? I was just wondering if I should download a torrent :ninja of the original along with purchasing the dvd because I just don't want to miss any scenes that Jason is in.

I'd wait if I were you.
As a Steptoe fan, I was really looking forward to it until it turned out to be very misleading about Harry's actual life. Jason was brilliant don't get me wrong (shouldn't have bothered with the contact lenses though) but just a little respect to his memory and the family would be nice. So yeh just wait and see what they do to it.

Good idea. I should stick to the edited version. I'm looking forward to seeing it finally. And yes I will be really really missing his baby blues while watching this.

Virtu1889, there was really no need for you to miss his baby blues...Harry's eyes were blue. I've seen loads of non-BW steptoe and son's...the eyes are blue

Isn't that just so odd?? I wonder what prompted that?

I apologize on behalf of the bbc....that they are all a gang of incompetant *bbbbbbbbbbeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep* :bat
Jason has probably poked himself in the eyes due to the rotten contact lenses....he doesn't even need!!!!! Harry H Corbett had blue eyes! Jason has blue eyes! Why? Why? Why? Why make them brown for no reason? *Leaves the room to catch bus to the BBC studio*

Hmm...that's a mystery to me. However, I must say that Jason looks nice with brown eyes (though I prefer his natural eye color, of course) ;-)

Poor Jason! I'm sure his eyes did get irritated! For no good reason!
I agree. Those who defile Jason or his image must be punished!

Someone at the BBC has been a ding a ling with their research. And not just over the eye colour. I'm sure a comment from one family member said "With his first marriage there was no adultry...on his part." The wives were 8 years apart between the divorce and 2nd marriage.

I think with most projects, an actor has a limited amount of input into
the script....although, Mr Jason likes to improvise and add his 2 cents,
he might not of had that opportunity, with this project...

I found it fascinating to see him with brown eyes....(is this the only time
we've seen him with a diff eye color?).....

Many times, autobiographies are changed, for different reasons....I don't think this was called an autobiography, events could be changed....

I am lucky to have seen this, before the editing was done. I'm glad I
did.
