DVD release (?!)

Based on the popular and critically acclaimed novels by Kate Atkinson, this mini-series was shot on location in Edinburgh and was quickly followed by a second season.

B&N shipped CH yesterday. The bad thing it's coming by USPS and not UPS so it will take forever.

Finally got round to watching the eps 1-4 Region 1. Totally disappointed all the music is gone. Guess they didn't want to pay the royalties to the artists. I was fortunate to see the original on BBC and at least the broadcast here in US on PBS included all the great songs. To me the music helps make the tone of the eps. Can someone tell me if the region 2 dvd has the music intact?

If I had know the Region 1 DVD was going to be minus the terrific music, I wouldnt have bought it and wasted the money

The music is there on the region 2... Can't imagine the series without the music, what have they swapped it with?

nothing...its either the original background music, or nothing...what a shame ruined it, in my opinion...
(when I say background music, I mean instrumental...)

now I have to buy the Region 2 DVD ;-)

I do want to add a positive, thank goodness this DVD has closed captioning...there were a few areas of the episodes where I
had difficulties understanding the dialect, especially DI Munroes son...

I don't understand why the music is gone? It makes you feel much more than the actual dialog or what’s taking place on the screen.
(hard to put it into words but you get my point).

Kim, that is bizarre. The music is a very important part of the series and the books, for that matter.

now, there is instrumental music, and I swear you hear a bit of the song, but NO WORDS...

when Jackson is out running, and the other times you hear the country songs, now you dont hear them...

I even tried turning off the closed caption thinking that would help...it doesnt

I'm a very disappointed consumer  :gah:

Works for me not having the music soundtrack . . . the non-Country-Music person. :razz
