Based on the popular and critically acclaimed novels by Kate Atkinson, this mini-series was shot on location in Edinburgh and was quickly followed by a second season.

What a lovely review. He really speaks good of Jason. One for the scrapbook.

Yeah. When I began reading the review and seeing how complimentary it was of Jason, I had to check the byline for the woman's name. Was surprised to see it was written by a man. What good taste he has.

Forgive the double post, a review of CH on vogue.com (thanks to LuciusCanePolisher from the Fanzone):

http://www.vogue.com/culture/article/ch ... s-and-csi/

"Isaacs is a darkly handsome man with a striking beak and the air of one who feels life deeply without splashing around in himself. At once two-fisted and sympathetic, he becomes the reassuring private eye we’d all like to know. He’s able to walk down Edinburgh’s mean streets without himself ever becoming mean."

fruitbat, the part after "hot and bothersome" also bears repeating. nuke.gif

Most hot and bothersome—so far, anyway—is “Masterpiece's” latest sleuth, Jackson Brodie (played by intensely masculine Brit Jason Isaacs), whose tortured brow, sensitive nature and powerful build are like catnip to the ladies

Great review, Kate. Thx!!

Whoa! :woot That was an excellent first episode. I thought that they did a nice job in relation to the book, too. I hope that NBC doesn't let us down this winter. :D (I think I liked Case Histories better than Aurelio Zen, but please don't tell Rufus Sewell...)

Loved it! All the performances were very good. Jason was great. Yummy!

Watched Zen. Liked his characterization but wasn't too crazy about the female lead (from Casino Royale).

Well I did my usual DVR last night and the #46&8* didn't record. We checked about halfway through. For some reason it showed being recorded in the que but then only recorded black. Wierd. I ordered the DVDs anyway and already know the story from the books so guess I'll wait a little.
