The competition is stiff but here's hoping. He deserves it.

I noticed that the awards were being televised, but hadn't realised that 'Case Histories' was in the running because the Radio Times article only mentioned 'The Killing' and 'Luther' as in the running.

Which suggests that the BBC doesn't think CH will win anything. And bodes even less well for another series.

But fingers and toes crossed.

Glad the show won but feel bad for Jason. He was really good in it.

Maybe now there'll be a season 2.

Well. I can't see how a series can win the Best award but not the actor who was in practically every scene and carried each episode.

Still it's good news. This does bode well for a second season if the BBC will work with Jason's schedule.

I don't get it either, Jason made the show what it was and he didn't get an award. :???: Go figure this out.

I'm guessing close race between Case Histories and Luther for the TV Dagger, so Luther gets the best actor as a "comfort award"... but I may be wrong. (Haven't seen Luther)

Thrilled CH won! Maybe that'll give the Beeb a wake-up call to make another series. Fingers, toes and lots of other things crossed.

Bugger Jason didn't get Best Actor. He'll be bummed - these things mean a lot even if everyone has to pretend they don't. Of course they do though. We all crave the acknowledgement and respect of our peers. :-( Oh well ... next time. Chin up, Mr I.

Thrilled to hear that Case Histories won. You are all right, of course--the books and the series were different from other crime procedurals precisely because of the characters, and JI absolutely carried the show.
But I'm likin' the Luther/Idris Elba theory.

I'm thrilled and delighted that Case Histories won the best tv drama dagger at the awards. Amanda Abington also won best supporting actress dagger as well.

The lovely Mr Keith M was at the event and snapped the pair of them. Here's his pic.

Love his tweet for it.

Millie is such a sweet girl and I think has a great acting career ahead of her. It's nice of her to send me the occasional tweet. I have an 11 year old nephew. What a great age it must be for them.

I don't think Jason was able to make it, due to his filming commitments on Awake in LA.

Someone on "the other board" just posted:
Currently on ITV3 is 'The Crime Thriller Awards 2011' and Case Histories' has won the Golden Dagger. Jason Isaacs said 'thanks' from LA & said more will be filmed for next year !
More? Great. I asked her if she could post a link as I couldn't find anything myself.

Excellent that it looks like a second series of Case Histories will be done next year.

Millie advised me that the Dagger Awards are on ITV3 (UK) tonight.

However, it is available to view on ITV iplayer as well. Here's the link.

However, you will only be able to view the program from outside the UK if you have a proxy server (as I do).
