Thunder, of course he's a grown man and makes his own decisions, that process starts when we're about 4. And I KNOW he doesn't go home to blow smoke in the girls faces (I said the habit was stupid, NOT the man), but it's still a yuck habit, ya still end up stinking by days end (clothes, hair, hands-that's all considered 2nd and 3rd hand smoke-have you ever walked into a casino?). On top of which, I have a gut feeling we would all like to see him stay healthy and attractive for as long as possible, and whether it's for work, or just bumming them in a social situation, physiologically, it's not pretty on your insides, and the long term effects aren't worth the efforts of a few bucks. Whether or not he's a grown man and has the ability to make wise or poor decisions. He quit once, and his body is recovering well from that. To resume the habit is an unwise choice, and I'm not making this up, check with the New England Journal of Medicine, or the American Journal of Medicine, or with the American Lung Association or American Cancer Association. I apologize for ranting, as a nurse/teacher, and a mom of 2 teens, it's what I do. My friend once told me (jokingly) that I need to write a book entitled: The World according to Ellen. I apologize for jumping on you, this is one of my pet peeves, as it hastened my mom's death, and I've seen too much mutilation and death b/c of the damn things. If he can get away with NOT smoking, the better for HIM and his family. ellen
