EW this week has a short item on upcoming pilots. They say Prime Witness and Smash on NBC are likely to get a green light. No mention of R.E.M. Wish there was more word out there about it. Everything I've read has been good but again, not too much about it.

On a different note; Why a new version of Prime Witness? The original with Helen Mirran was perfect. Why, Oh Why do they remake shows that don't need remaking?

Amen, grannybear. Prime Suspect was pretty well unimprovable--especially by American television

(though I have to admit to finding L&O: UK intriguing. The wigs still trip me out, and I sometimes listen with the subtitles turned on, which is how I found out that--according to whatever Brit network, anyway--the *GLINGGLING* noise at the beginning of every episode represents cell doors clanging. Okay then!)

I'm with you, Hilary. Love L&O UK. Too bad Ben Daniels is leaving but I'm sure they'll get someone good to replace him.

I've watched all the L&O's since the 2nd year and have enjoyed them all. Miss the Mothership. They never should have cancelled it.

Same reason they remade "Wonder Woman" and countless other shows, they can't have an original idea of their own, and when someone does, it gets shot down *scowls and shakes fist at TV exes)*

Well, one more week to go. Maybe we'll hear a bit early. This suspense is too much. I couldn't go thru another pilot season next year so I really hope this is picked up.
