Episode 4: Kate Is Enough

This is a TV series about a police officer after a fatal car crash killed either his son or his wife. He lives in two realities. One where his son survived the accident, and one where his wife survived. He doesn't know which is the real one, and he doesn't want to know. It aired on NBC, and was cancelled after one season.

Episode 4: Kate Is Enough

Promo pics:

And a short promo/teaser:

(There's a better version on http://www.nbc.com/awake/, but that promo is region blocked)

I think they have swapped places with some of the episodes... this wasn't #4 originally :scratch Or maybe it was just announced wrong at first.

It looks like a good one. More on par with the Rex's kidnapping episode.

I saw an interview with Howard Gordon and Kyle Killian where they said the deal with season 1 was to figure out about the car crash, not so much about who is and isn't, I think that's maybe sort of foreground filling till season 2 until they can sort out the Captain Harper deal (although I do SO love the filling! Although I don't actually OWN an apple, was glad to see the trademark products back in their rightful hands if only I could remember whose universe they were in!). There are a TON of links to Awake on Facebook and other links which may make things easier for here, I dunno...ln

Thanks, Thunder.

Hmm, from the teaser in the first post:

they refer to "two dreams" and not "two realities".

And, from the short peak, it looks like I'm really going to have to be awake (Image see what I did there?) to watch this one.

Seriously, I've been feeling really tired lately, and by Thursday at 10, I am zonked. I taped and watched episode 3 the next day. This show requires, and deserves, my complete attention.

Okay. So. Here's my trick for not watching the damn commercials.

Of course, it requires that you have DVR.

I have the DVR record the show. Then, at 15 minutes into the show, I start to watch it from the beginning on the DVR. This way, I can fast forward through the commercials. Since the commercials add 15 minutes to the show, I virtually finish watching when the live show ends. Voilé!

I do that with shows that come on at 8 or 9 PM but I can't get up at 6AM in the morning and go to bed at 11 PM (a little latter when you count washing face and brushing teeth!)

But yes - I use the DVR - love that thing. Been watching Frozen Planet on the DVR - Discovery Channel - if you have not checked it out - it is spectacular! (Sorry for going off topic...) Really beautiful photography.

I bursted out laughing, confusing my son. Told him it was an inside joke.

Just read a review about this ep, stating this came from later in the series, but a decision was made to move it to the 4 spot.....good catch Thunder

Yes, I was pretty sure the Oregon one was #4 at first.

Vega starts to become a bit annoying with all his questions... I understand why when Michael seems to be "following his instincts", but when he just does his job and talks about things they both can see? No wonder this guy waited to long to get promoted. He doesn't seem very smart. Funny when he tried to get Michael to give him Kate's phone number, though.

The 'ukelele' clip was just played on Wittertainment - first chance we Brits have had to hear Jason's US accent (thankfully not as impenetrable as the one he used in Brotherhood). I echo Simon Mayo in wondering when we'll get it over here (too much to hope the BBC as enough money to buy it and we get it without adverts.)

The plot sounded interesting too.
