Jason to read for BBC (anniversary of Anton Chekhov's birth)

Post by thunder » Sun Jan 24, 2010 2:43 am

I think it's today, and as far as I understand, we can "listen again" for 7 days. It's for BBC3.

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Anton Chekhov's birth, actors Mackenzie Crook and Jason Isaacs explore male fragility in Russian literature.
...
Jason Isaacs, introduced to a new generation of film lovers as Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, reads passages from Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard, Three Sisters and short story The Lady with the Dog, as well as extracts from Turgenev and Tolstoy.

22.45 pm in the UK is

17.45 EST,

14.45 PST.

So maybe not too late for some.

Also, it should be available on the radio iPlayer for the next seven days.

Unfortunately this program is not on iPlayer. I missed the original reading. Bummer.

I listened to this programme, it was great to hear him, but it left me
a bit confused. At times, he was narrating, and others he was a
character...taken from about 5 diff writings from Russian poets/writers..
Beautiful music, but it didnt make sense to me

I was able to listen to it yesterday night. I loved to hear him but the music annoyed me a bit and I also got confused at times...
