More Audio-books read by Jason (Case Histories)

Post by PatsLass » Sun Feb 07, 2010 5:52 am

I have never started a thread before here so if this needs moving please feel free.

OK here goes;

I was trawling through Amazon UK the other day and came across these three audio-book due for release shortly.

  • Case Histories (Release date 4 Mar 2010)
  • One Good Turn (Release date 1 Apr 2010)
  • When Will There Be Good News (Release date 6 May 2010)
The author is Kate Atkinson and the reader is Jason. I have never read any of the authors work before so I can't pass comment however, Crime, Thrillers & Mysteries are my thing.

If anyone has read these books, are they any good?

Can you find them in bookstores, or are they only available online? :scratch

Are there other audiobooks he's done in the past?

He has done a number of audio books - I have "Wolf of the Plains" (I think it is still available on Amazon.com.)

Currently listening to disc 3 (of 5) of Case Histories.

One word of warning, whatever you do, don't drive while listening to them. It's hard do both LOL. You either miss out on what's being read or what's happening on the road. Must be something to do with Jason's voice. :D

Here's the synopsis on the back of the audiobook:

"Cambridge is sweltering, during an unusually hot summer. To Jackson Brodie, former police inspector turned private investigator, the world consists of one accounting sheet - Lost on the left, Found on the right - and the two never seem to balance.

Surrounded by death, intrigue and misfortune, his own life haunted by a family tragedy, Jackson attempts to unravel three disparate case histories and begins to realise that in spite of apparent diversity, everything is connected".

Jason gives Jackson Brodie a lovely, northern (possibly Yorkshire) accent.

Hooroo,
Carole
