It's an ample bit of Lorca. Thanks, thunder.

Here's why Jason Isaacs found Star Trek: Discovery fans harder to please than Harry Potter fans

Although he really does appreciate the dedication of Trekkies.

I suppose this is as good a place as any to put fan theories, 'cause this one's a doozy!!

Interesting theory and it shows you how much ST fans pay attention to details. But IMHO - he has had plenty of opportunities to destroy the Discovery (unless he wants it for the Klingons) - however perhaps he eventually becomes part of the solution that brings the Federation and the Klingons together. If he is a Klingon it will break MB's heart.

I also don't get Larell's (sp?) motivation. I thought from previous eps. that she was working toward peace between the Klingons and the Federation. But after beating the Admiral to death, I'm thinking otherwise. :scratch

I keep becoming more and more of a fan of Sonequa. Here's why: She takes on Piers Morgan . . . and wins. :wheee

I do not believe the Admiral is dead. Just knocked out. L'Rell brought her to L'Rell's own ship to escape when she noticed that Kol had murdered all her people and their bodies were piled up - that is when she vowed revenge. But I think the Admiral will wake up bruised and battered. Mary Chieffo is a great actress to be able to emote under all the prosthetics.

I thought I saw her move her head on the floor in the background in that last scene... so I don't think she's dead either...

Two new interviews this morning:

(..I don't like Klingon either...)

And this is a "would you rather..." interview with Jason and Shazad Latif:

First interviewer: good questions. Second interviewer: not so much.

Thanks, Marie, re the book.

Hmm...maybe I'll wait a bit then.

Re Potter fans vs Trekkies
I suspect that although we all loved HP books and films, but for all intents and purposes, the fandom was new and growing. And it's still growing and maturing. While we are all diehard fans, at the time when the movies were being made, we were all waiting for each new movie and book with bated breath. And JKR was and is involved in everything. Even now she often turns things upside down on us - like when she announced that Dumbledore was gay.

Trekkiedom is decades old, and have been entrenched in fandomness for decades longer than Potter folks. They also have films, huge runs of books, and multiple tv shows. Plus, I have the sense that Trekkies are mostly adults and teenagers who are a lot less forgiving (and dare I suggest this, but I would bet there are more male than female Trekkies). But I think that it is great that they are being more welcoming now as the show gains their trust.

Potter folks are a weird mix of adults and kids, and kids who are now adults. But I think that we were (are?) slightly more flexible at the moment than Trekkies. We have yet to really cement our roots. And I wonder how the gender numbers play out. But that's just me and my rambly midnight thoughts.

Another interview. Starts with Twitter trolls; then talks about Discovery.
