Streamline

It says they are talking to Jason about this. Ususally everything is kept super secret until all contracts are signed, so I don't understand what's going on. :scratch

The movie is about a swimmer talent that struggles when his dad is released from prison, and Jason is apparently in talks about playing the dad.
Levi Miller who was in Red Dog: True Blue will play the leading character. More information here.

"swimming prodigy"? Is that a thing? Is he part dolphin?

That aside, it sounds like an interesting story. thunder, perhaps by making it public that they're in talks with Jason, they may be trying to persuade him. Who knows how these things work. Either way, something to look forward to.

It's now up on imdb, and Jason is in the cast. Not much about it yet, and says it's in preproduction, so much can still happen...: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10801496/? ... flmg_act_1

He will be playing the father. That’s why he will be in Oz for the Supanova Cons in Adelaide and Brisbane in November.

This looks a fascinating movie. I do not know the story behind the movie but this looks like a great role for Jason. :D

Is it based on the life of Ian Thorpe or is it fictional.

I don’t think it’s a biopic, but Ian Thorpe is involved. Maybe it’s partly based on his life…? I don’t know…

September 2nd was supposed to be the US release date, but it hasn’t come to my part of the country yet.

Anyone else…??

Not quite, Thunder; Mr. Thorpe was there to help Levi Miller “build character”:

Yes, I read an interview, where Ian Thorpe said he was involved after reading the script... So, no based on his life. :D

I've been cruising through threads I hadn't already read, and came upon this one again. The trailer looks really compelling, so I went to see if I could find sources for viewing Streamline; it's not apparently available in the U.S. (for rental, purchase, or on DVD), but it does seem like you can watch it on an Australian streaming service called https://www.stan.com.au/? I didn't follow through, so don't know if non-Australians can get it, but they do offer a seven-day free trial (which ought to be enough to watch Streamline as much as one needed).

The article doesn’t say which “streaming platforms”, but does give the date, April 11th!
